Badollet Ivresse tourbillon (2012)

Badollet was founded by Jean Badollet in 1655 and went on to operate until 1924. The closure in 1924 was due to the outbreak of World War I. Years later, the brand was revived by a descendant of the Badollet family. This watch, the Badollet Ivresse tourbillon was introduced in 2012. The watch has a very interesting curve, the movement is curved. Case is in PT950 platinum. At the time, the CEO was Philippe Dubois, the designer of this watch was my good friend Eric Giroud. The watch maker that was in charge of the movement was none other than David Candaux. Only 50pcs was made and in 2012, Priced at 200,000CHF

This watch has 3 games, all using mechanical means. Case is in 18K gold with Titanium at 45mm. On the case back, the automatic winding rotor also functions as the roulette wheel, at 4 o’clock, there are two 1.5mm dice for the game of craps. On the dial side, the lower part of the dial at between 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock there is the player’s four cards appear in the aperture. Two are visible, two are hidden by shutters. On the top part of the dial are 3 additional windows for the dealer’s cards, one of which is visible, the other two hidden by shutters. A pusher at 9 o’clock activates a spring that triggers the seven discs on which the cards are printed. The combination of various discs made it possible to have 216 different card combinations; the player with 4096 combo; a total of884,736 ways to win or lose. Automatic winding movement Calibre BLJ08 that is COSC (with more than 501 components). Two barrels providing a 72 hours power reserve. Limited to 21 pcs. Priced at USD200,000.00

Powered by a self-winding mechanical movement with a 38-hour power reserve, ticking at 28,800 variations per hour, and equipped with a skeleton movement. Functions include hours, minutes, and a striking watch. Reference: C01-41APT1-T00B0-VB. Part of the Bel Canto collection, limited to 300 pieces. Launched in November 2022, priced at 3,350 CHF.

This timepiece embodies Christopher Ward’s mission to democratize haute horlogerie, showcasing a passing chime complication, achieved through the innovative FS01 chiming module, with 50 new components. Designer Will Brackfield ensured visual balance by concealing minor elements behind the platine, highlighting the sunray finish applied through positive coating.
