The Milgauss first appeared in 1956. The Milgauss was designed as an antimagnetic watch specifically for those who worked in power plants, medical facilities and research labs where electromagnetic fields are strong (because magnetism can cause inaccuracy in a watch). The current Milgauss (Ref 116400) introduced in 2007 is equipped with amagnetic alloy (Parachrom-Blu) hairspring and movement encased by a magnetic shield. This watch is a faithful re-created on the Blancpain Tribute to Fifty Fathoms Mil-Spec, and it has a fully-functional humidity indicator at 6:00.
