In physics, resonance is a phenomenon in which a vibrating system or external force drives another system to oscillate with greater amplitude at specific frequencies. This watch takes advantage of this physics phenomenon and made two resonating balances to offer better stability of rate and higher precision, because two oscillators will tend to reinforce each other. The Armin Strom Mirrored Force was released in 2016, this year the Pure Resonance takes on a more simple approach by reducing a seconds counter. 42mm in 18k rose gold. The large aperture at 3 o’clock is the date. The up/down at 9 o’clock is a power reserve. The small arrow hand pointing to an hour is the month. To keep the dial clean, the watch doesn’t tell you the day of the week. However, being a perpetual calendar, it must be able to see the the leap year indicator on the watch and to maintain the spirit of keeping the watch clean and elegant, the leap year indication is hidden away on movement side of the watch. The watch is adjusted via simply only thru the crown, and it can be adjusted forward or backward (unlike many other perpetual on the market which can only be adjusted forward), leap year is adjusted by the corrector on the side of the case at 9 o’clock. The date indicator is a large date display with two discs overlapping each other; and it is an instantaneous jumping display. 18K white gold case in 41mm. Hand engraved dial with equestrian motif is done on a gold plate less than half a centimetre thick. First, by engraving the waves and accentuating them with a fine black lacquer; followed by fixing this engraving in place on the dial before covering the surrounding area with aventurine.
