This is the 2nd collaboration between Hublot and the Japanese contemporary artist 59 year old Takashi Murakami. The sapphire case is in 45mm. The dial features Murakami’s signature smiling flower; it spins as the watch moves (note, this is not part of the winding rotor, and the rotation is non-functional). This watch is a classic car inspired watch. The ‘Drive de Cartier’ flying tourbillon watch is the top of the line model in the ‘Drive’ range. The 9452MC caliber was launched in 2007, this manual winding movement also carries the “Poinçon de Genève”! For the dial Cartier used the layered cut-out with guilloche underneath. 18k pink gold, 40mm. Priced at US$89,500.
