Ben Saunders developed this watch for his Trans-Antarctic Solo Expedition. This is the second collaboration with Saunders; the first joint effort was back in 2014 with the Terra Nova. This is the third version of the “1740”. The watch has 3 patents and 8 design registrations. It was named “1740” in memory of the year when the presence of a watchmaker was recognized for the first time ever in the Vallee de Joux. Titanium case in 43.5mm, the watch features a manual winding 30 degree inclined tourbillon, big centre seconds hand, power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock. Case in 18k (6N) rose gold or Platinum at 40mm or 42mm. Manual winding calibre 1520, featuring a rose gold main plate; resonance balance. The crown at 2:00 is for winding and setting the time – turning counter-clockwise to set the time on the left, and clockwise to set the time on the right.
