Panerai PAM92 Luminor Arktos (2004)

In 2004 South African born explorer Mike Horn completed a two-year, 3-month solo circumnavigation of the Arctic Circle, and in 2006 along with Norwegian explorer Børge Ousland, became the first men to travel without dog or motorised transport to the North Pole during winter, in permanent darkness. Of course, a watch with a Quartz movement would simply freeze, he relied on his PAM92 to navigate in such extreme conditions. Anti magnetism with soft iron inner case, water resistance to 300 meters, capable to resist extreme temperatures down to –70° (whereas the oils used in a normal watch would fail at –30°); the Arktos can also be used as a compass. The Luminor Arktos was released in 2004 (limited 500pcs)

Rado Captain Cook High Tech Plasma Ceramic – ref R32127162 (2021)

Named after the British explorer, it was originally released in 1962, this watch is the perfect blend of vintage and new material. Although Rado had already used ceramic for the bezel of its signature dive watch, it is the first time that ceramic is applied to the entire Captain Cook. Monobloc construction case, plasma high-tech ceramic in 43mm. Plasma ceramic is forged in an oven at 20,000°C transform finished white ceramic into a material with a metallic shine, retaining its essential properties: lightness, hardness, and comfort. Bezel is Gold PVD coated stainless steel with insert made of polished ceramic. Dial in black-tinted sapphire crystal. Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual-Time “Everest” Limited Edition (2021)
  • Created in 2019 for the American explorer and photographer Cory Richards as a prototype watch, this year Vacheron brought that prototype into production, the Everest Dual time.
  • Cory and his team attempted to summit Everest via the extremely treacherous North-East Ridge, approaching from Tibet.
  • The winter climb of Gasherbrum II (GII), the thirteenth-highest mountain in the world at 8,035 meters above sea level, saw Richards become the first American to summit Gasherbrum II.

Longines Avigation BigEye Chronograph (2017)

Longines has an important role in making chronographe for aviation since the early 20th century. The Charles Lindbergh or WWII pilot watches; or from the first monopusher to the first flyback; these are all significant achievements by Longines. The Avigation BigEye has been modelled after an early-1970s watch made for military aviators. The oversized minute counter, explaining its name “BigEye”. Made in stainless steel, at 41mm. Movement is the Longines Calibre L688 which is based on the 7750 with heavy modifications. Automatic winding with column wheel, power reserve at 54hours. Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Heures Florales Cerisier Watch (2022)

Case is in 38mm in 18k rose gold. The hour is displayed by the 3 dimensional dial which comprised of 12 flowers, at each hour; on the hour, the flowers will blossom and close, and you must count the opened flowers to tell the time. Minutes is shown on the side of the case.  There are 166 components set in motion just on the dial by the automatic movement with a module that was fully developed by the maison’s craftsmen. The butterflies, the petals all adorn the expertise in miniature painting, the branches sculpted in gold and the clouds are done in MOP. The display case back shows the movement with a winding rotor that is decorated with enamelling and guilloche. The whole movement is comprise of 533 components Limited Production Priced at 243,000CHF

Manual wind movement with direct impulse escapement and two escape wheels; German silver and titanium base plate and bridges with decoration by Unryuan studio; gold wheels. Mr Tatsuo Kitamura lacquer artists created the dial lacquer works, another half of the landscape is created by Anita Porchet, one of the greatest enamel artist. Vineyard with rich colors is made with email cloisonne techniques. It shows vineyard on his full beauty, grapes fulfilled in enjoyable colors.
