Heuer Monaco 1133B 1969
  • Worn by Steve McQueen in the racing film, Le Mans.
  • In 1971, Steven McQueen starred in the racing “documentary styled” movie Le Mans; directed by Lee Katzin.
  • This is before the trend of brand using movies to build their presences; and the production team went out to purchase these watches at retail price.
  • McQueen took one Monaco and gave it to his chief mechanic; thanking him for keeping him alive for the past few months.
  • At first, Haig Alltounian didn’t want the watch but McQueen told him he had already done the engraving on the case back, he couldn’t give it to someone else.
  • The Monaco watch was first introduced in 1969, bearing a few significant details, first and foremost is the case shape, being square isn’t the easiest to make it water resistant; but they’ve managed to get the Monaco to withstand water to 100m.

  • The movement was the legendary cal 11. In 1967 a group of companies; Breitilng, Hamilton-Buren, Heuer, and Dubois-Depraz— joint effort to develop a new automatic chronograph movement.
  • In 1969, they unveiled the Cal. 11. The Heuer Caliber 11 was the company’s first and arguably most famous automatic chronograph movement.
  • This watch is up for auction on December 12th at Phillips auction (New York).

Titanium case with matte black DLC coating at 39x39mm. A newly developed original typography font was used for the luminescent Arabic numerals. The shape of the 0 and the 8 correlate the cushion-shaped case. Contrast is another element; a darker ring with baton markers and the date window located between 4 and 5 o’clock frames the central disc with the white transferred minutes track. Harry Winston Opus 14 (2016)
  •  Inspired by the American jukebox.
  • Harry Winston commissioned watchmakers Frank Orny and Johnny Girardin of which were in charged of the Metamorphosis watch at Montblanc.
  • Case is in 18k white gold at 54.7mm.
  • The dial is a series of stacked subsidiary dials displaying the hour (at 8 o’clock) and the minute display at 4 o’clock.
  • The large case is necessary to hold the “jukebox” function – a patented automaton on the watch.
  • Activating the selection button at 9 o’clock, a miniature record disc will slide out from underneath exposing one of four displays: local time, GMT time, the date, and the Harry Winston star.
  • After choosing which display you want, press the button again to see it in action. Manual winding Caliber HW 4601 with 1,066 components.

Hamilton Khaki Aviation Converter (2020)
  • Hamilton Khaki Aviation Converter was launched in 2020, here we have an updated version in blue dial.
  • 42mm case in stainless steel.
  • It comes in either with a calf strap or a steel bracelet.
  • The main feature on the watch is the slide rule bezel, which can be considered as a “flight computer” or “logarithmic bezel”.
  • The slide rule is a mechanical analogue device, used to perform multiplication and division, it can also calculate exponents, roots or logarithms; pilots uses the slide rule in combination with the watch to calculate speed, fuel consumption, distance, rate of climb, descent and flight time.
  • It is an essential tool for the pilots back in the days, but still a great compliment or back up for today’s pilots.
  • The watch uses the H-10 automatic movement with an 80-hour power reserve and anti-magnetic NivachronTM balance spring.
