Features a new automaton, an operable animation of running river with koi, lotus movement and other scenery, the lotus flower even changes color (random) three times every revolution; and it can run for more than 4 minutes. On the movement; the bridges and oscillating weight are hand-engraved with naturalist motifs, with carp and Lotus flowers echoing the carvings on the dial side. The non-engraved elements on the movement are also decorated (circular graining, drawn strokes) and chamfered by hand. Jaquet Droz 2653 AT2, self-winding movement; power reserve is at 68 hours. 18K white gold case in 41mm. Hand engraved dial with equestrian motif is done on a gold plate less than half a centimetre thick. First, by engraving the waves and accentuating them with a fine black lacquer; followed by fixing this engraving in place on the dial before covering the surrounding area with aventurine. • It was one of the very first watches to use a coating process for cases that was relatively new to the watchmaking industry: the stainless-steel case was blackened by oxidation, giving it a matte black finish that prevented any glare, a key criterion for military equipment.
