2022 marks the 50th anniversary for the Cartier Pebble. The Pebble debuted in 1972 in an extremely low production, unconfirmed sources says there was only 6 Pebble watch ever produced. The Pebble design reflects the feeling of excitement in London at the beginning of the 70s, following the swinging 60s. This Cartier Pebble (2022). 18k gold case in 36mm. eggshell- colored dial with roman numeral, blued sword shaped hands with the classic Cartier secret signature. Paired with a light brown calf leather stap with gold pin buckle. Crown set with a cabochon sapphire. Manual winding 430MC caliber. Limited to 150pcs Priced at 40800€

WatchProfessor’s take : Cartier has changed dramatically since 2016, largely due to the new CEO’s direction (Cyrille Vigneron) bringing the brand back to focusing on its heritage, shapes and designs.  2022’s Pebble reflects exactly that, and the watch is special because its not a re-edition on a piece that was widely known.  Only 6 pebbles were ever produced, making the original ultra rare.  The new watch is very close to its original design, and I think Cartier has done an excellent job.  The down side is its price, at €40800 for a time only watch, it is eye watering expensive, but if you like the watch, good luck trying to get one, seems like 150 people felt 40k is acceptable and it was quickly sold out!
